I have been kind of tense lately. Just thinking about the Star Wars sequel. I’m worried they’ll rely too heavily on CGI and I’m carrying it all on my shoulders.

One of the reasons these scenes are so compelling to me is just look at Sherlock’s face in the last gif. He’s been writing to Moriarty for months. She’s someone with a genius intellect and a possibly higher IQ than his own, someone who can finally keep up with him (mentally). They could discuss the very secrets of the universe itself, or mathematical formulas that have stumped the greatest minds for thousands of years, and of all the things they could have written about they are talking about Joan’s dating life. And just look at his face in the last gif. He pauses, almost like this is the norm for the two, and until Joan pointed it out he didn’t find anything unusual with this line of discussion. That makes me think that the last letter was not the first time they were talking about Joan’s personal life and they have done this before, perhaps multiple times. Moriarty’s a manipulator of the highest caliber and she has already proven proficiency at managing Sherlock. This mention of Watson is very deliberate on Moriarty’s part. If you don’t agree, just look at Exhibit A. Some girls write their object of affection’s name in their notebooks and draw hearts, Moriarty likes to do the slightly more adult version and creates a humungous painting of Joan’s face. This is not a random incidence, or even a onetime thing. If Joan was being discussed, you bet your ass Moriarty was the one to lead Sherlock to that line of conversation. Just that first expression in the last gif is oh God I fucked up abort abort

Also, let me remind you that the look on Moriarty’s face in the 2nd and 3rd gifs is her staring at a big ass painting of Joan.
